The program trains peer educators in sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health and hygiene management, and puberty education. After the training, the educators are independent in managing and organizing workshops, and classes based on the needs of their respective communities. Strong Flowers also develops educator handbooks, teaching aids, and audiobooks on different topics in sexual health, menstrual health, hygiene management, and puberty education to various beneficiaries including women and girls with visual disabilities.
We teach adolescents, teachers, parents and care givers about adolescents’ sexuality. We alternate between specific group discussions among these beneficiaries and open discussions where everyone gets together.We teach adolescents about life-skill-based comprehensive sexuality in informal settings. We teach school teachers how to deliver knowledge through classroom activities through a deeper understanding of adolescents’ sexual health information. We also train parents and guardians as part of a continuum of training activities.
This training delivers knowledge on human psychosexual development, recognition of children’s sexual behaviors, and understanding of red flags and signs that need to be addressed and seek professional help. The training also covers how to educate kids about age and developmentally appropriate sexual knowledge to foster self-respect and self-protect against sexual abuse, how to start a conversation about sexual health with teen kids, and many more.
During this introduction, we talk about the scope of sexuality. We mainly focus on the questions that participants want to ask. It really depends on participants’ preference. We take the most holistic approach we can, which is mandatory to be as inclusive as possible.
The training is mainly based on the curriculum which is adapted to the Burmese context by referencing UN, WHO guidelines and other online resources. The themes we discuss here are sexual reproductive health, rights, consent, sexual anatomy, relationships, family planning and many more.
The training covers knowledge about the recognition of different kinds of sexual harassment, and sexual violence, sexual exploitation and preventive measures, effective response mechanisms, as well as how to be an active bystander in public places when encountering such events.
This training emphasizes various harassment that takes place in workplaces and work-related events and situations. We design this training mainly for businesses, different community organizations, and international organizations in Myanmar.
This training focuses fundamental aspects of taking care of sexual and reproductive health issues in emergency situations. The training also provides knowledge on recognition of serious health conditions and emergency relief measures in response to harsh circumstances
This space provides participants raise awareness of being a woman in society. Women and girls foster autonomy and confidence by sharing personal experiences in different social roles they are taking in society. This space has four rules to be follwed by each and everyone participating in the group, such as building trust, keeping confidentiality, showing commitment to the space, and practicing nonjudgemental listening skills
